ChM in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery

This two-year, part-time masters programme leads to the award of Master of Surgery in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. The degree programme offered jointly by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the University of Edinburgh, and is taught entirely online. Both institutions have combined well previously to deliver an award-winning Master’s programme to support early surgical training, and continue to serve as a powerful brand in surgical education. You will be taught by experienced tutors and have access to well-defined and managed learning resources and educational material, including an unparalleled online library facility. Key aspects of the specialty are taught using a clinical problem-based approach through asynchronous discussions which cover technical skills and procedures relevant to the cases as well as core knowledge and clinical skills. Students learn to reflect on their own practice and the practice of their global peers, find evidence to justify varied approaches, evaluate evidence and understand it's applicability to their own patient cases. Students also develop skills in academic surgery, learning how to critically evaluate research evidence and ultimately generate evidence by undertaking their own independent research project.
