About CX and CX Aortic

The Charing Cross Symposium (CX) first took place in 1978 at Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith, London, and has gone on to become the leading global vascular symposium.

London (UK) has been the host city of CX ever since. The symposium, born out of the Charing Cross Hospital, has subsequently grown to Imperial College, Olympia London’s National Hall, Olympia London’s Grand Hall and most recently the Hilton London Metropole in a hybrid event format.

The inaugural CX Aortic Vienna Symposium was held in 2020 as a digital event and aimed to unite the cardiac aortic, cardiothoracic, vascular and endovascular fields. The Symposium highlights an all-encompassing multidisciplinary approach to aortic care in the patient’s best interest – from the aortic valve to the iliac arteries.

Now in its third year, CX Aortic has taken the aortic world by storm and invites world-leading aortic experts to participate and share their experiences with our international audience. From 2023 onwards CX Aortic Vienna will be held each October in-person in Vienna, Austria whilst simultaneously broadcasting to our wider global audience.

Our mission

Education, Innovation and Evidence are CX’s core values. The programmes are created to showcase all aspects of care from selection to investigation, diagnosis, techniques, technologies and fruitful debate. Emphasis on interaction with a world-class faculty and an expert audience is a key aspect of the CX style.
